From the President’s desk We had another busy 4th of July week. It was nice to see so many of our out of town members again. Many use the occasion to stay and visit with us and the other guests. Tourists have also been stopping because they see our sign on the highway. Many of them also stay awhile to talk about the area and it’s history, especially the mining. This happened just this week when we had visitors from Kansas, The Netherlands, Japan, and New Mexico. The Japanese couple wrote in our guest book, “A very interesting exhibit“. The words of encouragement from our guests and members are appreciated by all of us. Our annual meeting is on September 9 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the “Elk and Hound”. Our 3rd Annual Bessemer Birthday Party is on September 16 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the Heritage Center. Once again we will honor 6 of our senior long time residents. Please try to attend. Don’t forget about our
“We Remember“ plaque. Contact any Director for details. We also have a plaque for the names of our “Lifetime Members“ so let us know if you want to be listed on it. |
