From the Desk of the President Our Grand Opening during the 4th of July festivities was a huge success. Many BHS alumni who were here for class reunions came in to to visit and see what we have done. Many also became members which we appreciate. We now have 18 states represented in our membership and it continues to grow. It was encouraging to hear the nice remarks concerning our project. Our next event is the 2nd annual Bessemer birthday party on September 10th. This year will be 121 years since the City was plotted by the Milwaukee and Lake Shore RR. Several of our long time residents will be honored at this event. On September 17th, we will have our 3rd annual meeting, which will be held at the Elk and Hound restaurant. Paul Sturgul, a local attorney, will give a talk on the different ethnic groups that settled this area. If you can attend, please do so, as this is an interesting presentation. We are in need of BAHS yearbooks so if you have any that you would like to donate please let us know.
